Amazeballs
Look at the kind of stuff they got away with back in the day
I love old school advertising... discrimination and all...

Localise This...
A friend and colleague - the beautiful and talented Nkgabiseng - had a little vent moment and drew me a picture which she posted on her blog www.lanoirlane.blogspot.com
Part of her frustration is how we - specifically the advertising industry, but not exclusively - try to localise already Eurocentric elements. Yes, this is partly true and I keep asking - where is our African identity? What is our essence? Who are we?
Someone said "You can tell the mindset of a nation by the advertising you see" - What then is South Africa saying about itself?
Here's the picture:
I love it! Thanks Gabilanoir

"Anyhow here's my point, I drew this for Akona ( http://www.akmosaic.blogspot.com/ ) simply because she's a constant reminder of African authenticity. That's all." |

Mel's annual 25th
I've missed every single one of Melanie's birthday's ever since we met through Smirnoff Experience. Of course, this is not how friend's treat each other, so situation remedied. I could make the *very valid* excuse that we were either not in the same country or same city, but I'll just leave that whole story behind
On Friday, darling Mel had her annual 25th #GrownAndSexy - the last one in a club - and I made my way to Hush to celebrate with my friend.
It was fun, it was entertaining, it was good. I think fun was had by all.

Obviously, because it's Queen Hypress, there were loads of people there - but here are pics with just some of my favourite people.
Sunshine and Cupcakes
Yesterday I was very down and of course I took to twitter to express this blah mood
A friend, @Wfismer asked what could be done, to which I responded 'send me sunshine and cupcakes....
And he did!
How sweet?!? Made me smile through the darkness
